Mat's path to real estate combines service, entrepreneurship, and a love for Richmond. After graduating from VCU, he served four years as an active-duty Infantry Officer in up-state NY before returning home, joining the Virginia National Guard, and launching a successful real estate media company.
With his expertise in marketing and photography, Mat joined his wife, Alex Oswald, in real estate to create standout listings and provide exceptional service. He connects naturally with everyone but especially military families, investors, and builders while also authoring four books on Richmond architecture, with his work featured in R•Home. Outside of real estate, Mat volunteers his photography to local charities and nonprofits, including Henrico CASA, Historic Richmond, Garden Club of Virginia and local animal shelters.
